Hi folks - I’m trying out another format this week — a much shorter one. Now concentrate on the most difficult problem you are trying to solve and answer these five questions:
Think of some important event from the history of your problem. Why is it so important to people?
Would people generally say that this kind of event can happen again? Why or why not?
If this type of event did happen in the future, how might it be similar to and different from the first time? What consequences might this have?
Let’s say you received a foolproof guarantee that this type of event will never happen again. How might you go about solving your problem differently?
As you reflected on these possible futures for your problem, what assumptions in your thinking were challenged? How might you act differently having considered these possibilities?
That’s it! If you want to share any thoughts or feelings these questions evoked, just reply to this e-mail or comment below. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
